Simple Losses Victor looked down the desolate street; there wasn't another living soul for miles around. His arms had grown tires; his feet stung with every step. The rifle in his hands grew heavy, he could no longer hold it straight. Victor looked around, searching for a place to sit. The city was crumbling, whole sky scrapers had fallen over, and only dust and rocks remained of the smaller buildings. He couldn't keep walking, he had to stop soon, otherwise he'd fall to the ground and never awake from the perusing sleep. Then he saw it, a park bench beside the road, possibly the last of it's kind.
